1977 Toyota Corolla, bought new $7,700, 149,669 KM
My first brand new car. Had it for a short 2 years. Sold it when I was supposed to go on a UN peacekeeping mission in Ismalia, Egypt.

I almost got killed when I was stopped at gunpoint in Florida by police since my vehicle matched the description of a vehicle used in a armed holdup where someone was shot . The racing stripes did me in which I added since I thought it was cool.
















1979 Toyota Celica, bought new, $9,600.00, 263,000 KM
Bought this new and was ripped off. I was in a sporty mood and the 1980 models were about to roll out, but this was on sale. It was my first stick. I asked if there was going to be changes in the new model and I was told something about the headlight, and mirrors being re-designed but not much else. He added the new car would be more expensive. He also stated that the new design sucked.

FUCK. The 1980 model rolled out, looked cool, had more stuff, and was CHEAPER













Volkswagon Rabbit (turbo diesel), bought used, $4,000.00, 50,000 KM
Bought it used from my friend's father. It was destroyed when someone hit us when they ran a stop sign.



1998 Jeep Cherokee, bought used in a snow pile, $6,000.00, 100,000 KM,
Had it for not very long. We thought we needed it after the VW was totalled, since we were moving to the country. Spent thousands of dollars in repairs, then the engine blew 2 weeks before the move. Hence the purchase of the NEW Mazda down below.













1993 Mazda 323, bought new, $11,319.00, 417,000 KM
1992-2002, scrapped
Bought this new since the Jeep was a piece of crap and we moved to the country and needed something dependable.















1998 Hyundai Accent, bought used, $7,6000.00, 155,000 KM
2001-2009


2005 Mazda 3, hatchback, 44,000 KM existing, $13, 500 all taxes and bullshit fees.

1982 Ford F-150, 31,547 KM, bought used, $1,300.00
December 1993-2000
Bought this one from a guy who didn't want his wife to get it in a divorce settlement. It was in pretty good shape until I had it. Due to financial issues, I could not maintain it as I should have. It was declared dead when it got stuck and lay in a field for 3 weeks, then it sat in my shed.

I loved this truck.

I also have driven several types of military vehicles, police cars, rentals, trucks, and vans.
My TOTAL estimate currently sits at 1,279,669 KM.

I don't even want to think about how much gas it cost, let alone insurance, and repairs.
So, kids out there, don't think for a moment that a car is an "investment".
It's a giant hole that you bulldoze money into!

We love our snow, damn it!

There is a place called Adesa Auctions Ottawa www.adesa.com on the 417 eastbound towards Montreal. It's a car clearing house. They have a HUGE lot to plow, and they have to pile the snow somewhere. I often bet on the date it melts completely. And, they place a flag on it every year.

Parking BOZO's

Sure, I say to a sick friend during a bus strike. Sure, I'll drive you home in a raging snow storm.

Even though I'm the first in the lot at 6 AM and set the pace, I wonder who the fucking blind losers are that park in such a way to create a middle row and then proceed to continue the insanity and block me in.
That's me with the lights on waiting an hour and a half for the tow trucks. They all got a ticket, but if no one was looking, I would have scraped the bumper of the nice new Escalade.

This year the Mayfair is celebrating its 76th Anniversary. One of Canada’s oldest surviving independent movie theatres, the City of Ottawa has recently recommended its designation as an official heritage building for its unique architectural and cultural value to the City.

Built in 1932 in the depths of the Great Depression, it is one of Ottawa’s last two neighbourhood movie theatres, and it owns the distinction (and some might say honour) of never having been owned by or affiliated with any of the major movie theatre chains.

Not only has the Mayfair stood for generations as an essential component of the life and character of Old Ottawa South, it has contributed greatly to the cultural life of the Glebe, Old Ottawa East and the larger Ottawa community.

In addition to providing a venue for classic and current cinema from around the world, it plays a valuable role as a gathering space for the community, providing a convenient and affordable
auditorium for meetings, special screenings, festivals and fundraisers. Countless local filmmakers, community groups and businesspeople have made use of it over the years.

The Mayfair is notable for the fact that it contains a number of architectural features that make it unique in Ottawa, and possibly in Canada. It is one of the few surviving examples of an “atmospheric cinema”, built with a particular theme to enhance the movie-going experience and draw the movie-goer into the world of the imagination. The same architectural features that were incorporated into its interior design in 1932 – the detailing that suggests a Spanish-style villa – have been virtually untouched over these past seventy-six years.
